Days 40-49: Shelter...Well, Sort Of!

It feels like things have been moving extremely slowly lately, but I think that is to be expected in any renovation. It`s already snowed and we still don't have a roof on. I'm extremely far behind on updating you all about the renovation, and I have a million other things on my plate. Who knew raising two children while building a house could be so hectic? I'll have to ask those Novogratz who did it with seven kids! Freaks of nature...that's all I have to say :)

Day 40: I felt useless today while the boys finished putting the bolts in the carrying beam and jacked up the basement. It rained A LOT, so Caleb had a blast playing in the water.

Here is our makeshift play area:

Just needs to go a liTTle up on the riGhT!

Hurricanes = lots of fun stuff for kids.

Day 41: Continued to level the floor in the kitchen and under the stairs.

Day 42: The second storey floor is down.

Not a chance, little man! Back that kaboose up!

Caleb: "Okay, I'll just sit here and eat from this giant treat bag Daddy's friend made me!"

Hurricane = Mud = Heaven for 3 year old boys

Day 43: Second storey walls went up.

Day 44: Continued to work on the posts in the basement.

Day 45: A day of rest...well, play time with Jace for Caleb. We met at McDonalds' and then made Christmas crafts.

Day 46: Fixed the window.

Day 47: We spent another whole day running errands because we didn't have any materials to work with.

Day 48: Today was an interesting and productive day. We put the roof trusses on and I was shocked at just how easy it really is.

Day 49: Our worst nightmare finally happened...SNOW! Caleb loved it, but Dad and I weren't too sure about being up on the unfinished roof soaking wet.

This wall will be coming out eventually.

Dad showing how excited he is to have finished with the roof boards.

And last but not least, Dad finished putting the new floor boards down before he left to go hunting for a week.
